Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss the mixed berries with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch in a mixing bowl.
  3. Pour the berry mixture into a greased 9×9 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Blend in diced butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Add milk and vanilla extract to the flour mixture and stir gently until just combined.
  6. Cut out heart shapes from the dough using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  7. Place the heart-shaped biscuits on top of the berry mixture.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the berries are bubbling and the biscuits are golden brown.
  9. Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
