Description

Delicate and airy tree meringue cookies that offer a delightful crunch with a chewy center, perfect for any bake lover.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Egg Whites (room temperature)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar (superfine recommended)
  • 1/4 tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (or almond extract)
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch (or potato starch)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Whip egg whites in a clean, dry bowl until frothy and soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, continuing to whip until you achieve glossy stiff peaks.
  5. Add cream of tartar and vanilla extract, folding gently to avoid deflating the meringue.
  6. Fold in cornstarch until evenly mixed.
  7. Pipe the meringue into tree shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for one hour, then turn off the oven and leave the cookies inside to cool completely.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar for added sweetness and serve with fresh berries or a drizzle of chocolate.
