- 2 cups Sweet Rice Flour (Glutinous Rice Flour)
- 1 cup Water
- 2 tablespoons Butter (unsalted)
- 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
- Cornstarch (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sweet rice flour and water; stir until smooth.
- Transfer the batter to a heatproof dish and steam for 20-25 minutes until set.
- Let the rice cake cool for about 10 minutes.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and mix in soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil.
- Slice the cooled rice cake and coat with the soy butter sauce.
- Plate and serve warm, optionally sprinkling with sesame seeds.
Notes
For a vegan option, substitute butter with coconut oil and sugar with maple syrup or agave.
