Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat until completely liquefied.
  2. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar until smooth and lump-free.
  3. Stir in heavy cream and peppermint extract, adjusting flavor as desired.
  4. Add cornstarch in small increments and mix until dough is pliable but not sticky.
  5. If desired, add food coloring and mix until achieving the desired shade.
  6. Shape the mixture into small disks or balls.
  7. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and allow to cool until firm, about 1 hour.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with almond milk. Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
