Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.

  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the sour cream until smooth.

  6. Prepare the plum filling by simmering chopped plums with sugar and lemon juice until thick.
  7. Divide batter between pans, adding half the plum filling to one layer before topping with the second.
