Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the sour cream until smooth.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients; mix until just combined.
- Prepare the plum filling by simmering chopped plums with sugar and lemon juice until thick.
- Divide batter between pans, adding half the plum filling to one layer before topping with the second.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Frost if desired.
Notes
