- Small pasta shapes (penne or rotini)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 cup pepperoni
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 2 cups pizza sauce
- 1 cup chopped bell peppers
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, boil water and cook the pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat for 7-10 minutes.
- Toss in the chopped onions and bell peppers, sauté for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the pizza sauce and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained pasta with the meat and sauce mixture. Fold in half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
For a healthier twist, opt for whole wheat or gluten-free pasta, and consider using turkey sausage or low-fat cheese.
