- 1 cup fresh figs, chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- Zest from 1 large lemon
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg, lemon zest, and lemon juice, mixing well.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped fresh figs.
- Spread the mixture evenly in your prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve!
