Description
Delightful French salted butter cookies with a rich, buttery flavor and a perfect balance of sweet and salty notes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter
- ¾ cup Granulated Sugar
- ½ cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1 large Egg
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cream the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and sea salt. Slowly add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients while mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Drop rounded balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a vegan option, replace the egg with a flaxseed or chia seed egg. For a unique twist, try almond extract instead of vanilla.
