- 5 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 3 large eggs
- 150g all-purpose flour
- 120g granulated sugar
- 100ml whole milk
- 50g melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them thinly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the apple slices until well-coated.
- Prepare a round cake pan and pour the mixture in, spreading evenly.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 40 minutes.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil. Use almond or oat milk as a milk alternative.
