Easy Baked Churro Bites (No-Fry Recipe You’ll Love)

Description

These baked churro bites are golden, fluffy, and rolled in warm cinnamon sugar—no frying required! Perfect for parties, holidays, or cozy nights at home.


Ingredients

1 cup water

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

2 tablespoons granulated sugar (plus more for coating)

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup all-purpose flour

3 large eggs

Cooking spray (or a light oil mist)

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

3 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil. Add flour all at once, stirring until a dough ball forms. Cook 1 minute.

  • Remove from heat, cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until smooth and glossy.

  • Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip. Pipe 3–4 inch strips onto the baking sheet. Mist lightly with cooking spray.

  • Bake for 10 minutes at 425°F, reduce to 375°F (190°C), and bake another 15 minutes. Turn off oven, crack door, and let rest for 10 minutes.

 

  • Brush with melted butter, roll in cinnamon sugar, and serve warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

To reheat: warm in a 350°F oven for 5–7 minutes to crisp back up.

Flavor twist: swap cinnamon for pumpkin spice, or add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough.
