Description

Homemade onion ring chips that offer a satisfying crunch with a cheesy flavor, surpassing store-bought snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Cut your onions into thin rings, about ¼ inch thick.
  3. Create a breading station with three bowls: one with flour (seasoned with salt and pepper), one with beaten eggs, and the last with panko, Parmesan, and optional seasonings.
  4. Dip each onion ring into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat with the panko mixture.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the coated onion rings in a single layer, drizzling olive oil over the top.
  6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet for best results. Cool the chips slightly to retain crispiness.
