- 4 large ripe bananas
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the sugar and vegetable oil, then mix in the eggs, followed by the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
- Gradually stir in the dry mixture until just combined.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

For a healthier twist, consider substituting with whole wheat flour or natural sweeteners. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
