Description
Delightful Cherry Danish pastry with a flaky crust and sweet cherry filling.
Ingredients

- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 packet Instant Yeast
- 1/2 cup Milk (whole or dairy-free)
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Cherries, pitted
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; add butter and rub in until coarse crumbs form.
- Combine milk and egg, then mix with the dry ingredients until a sticky dough forms.
- Wrap dough in plastic and chill for 20 minutes.
- Prepare cherry filling: Cook cherries with sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla until thickened; cool.
- Roll out chilled dough to 1/4 inch thick; cut into squares.
- Spoon cherry filling onto squares, fold corners to the center, and pinch seals.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a vegan version, use flaxseed egg or aquafaba and coconut oil instead of butter.
