Description

A delightful fusion pastry of flaky dough filled with rich cheese and aromatic garlic, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, heat the milk until warm, then stir in the melted unsalted butter.
  3. Gradually pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing until a rough dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick, spread softened butter, and sprinkle minced garlic and cheese.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces, placing each piece upright in a greased muffin tin to rise for another 15 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For a healthier alternative, substitute whole wheat flour and use olive oil instead of butter.
