Description
A delightful blend of classic cheesesteak flavors wrapped in tender cheese tortellini, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- Cheese Tortellini
- Thinly Sliced Steak (Ribeye or Flank)
- Bell Peppers (Red, Yellow, or Green)
- Onion (Yellow or White)
- Cream Cheese
- Shredded Cheese (Provolone or Cheddar)
- Garlic Powder
- Salt and Pepper
Instructions
- Cook the Tortellini: Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 3-5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Vegetables: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Toss in sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing until softened and starting to caramelize (5-7 minutes).
- Cook the Steak: Add the thinly sliced steak and garlic powder to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Mix in the Cream Cheese: Lower the heat, add cream cheese, and stir until melted, coating the meat and vegetables.
- Combine Tortellini and Cheese: Gently fold in cooked tortellini and shredded cheese until combined. Cook until cheese is melted and everything is heated through, season with salt and pepper as needed.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, consider using whole wheat tortellini or ground turkey instead of steak.
