Description

A melt-in-your-mouth dish featuring beef short ribs slow-roasted to perfection, enhanced with a savory Asian marinade.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 pounds Beef Short Ribs
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 1 cup Chicken or Beef Broth
  • Green Onions (for garnish)
  • Rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Place beef short ribs in a resealable bag or glass dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  4. Heat oil in a skillet, sear the ribs on all sides until golden-brown.
  5. Transfer ribs to a roasting pan, pour reserved marinade and broth over, and cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Roast in the oven for 4-5 hours, checking occasionally.
  7. For a glaze, remove foil and increase temp to 425°F (220°C) for 20-30 minutes, basting with pan juices.
  8. Let ribs rest for 10 minutes before serving, garnishing with green onions and serving with rice.

Notes

Marinate the ribs overnight for deeper flavors. Consider lower-sodium soy sauce for a healthier option.
