- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and granulated sugar. Add melted butter and mix until fully incorporated. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Bake the crust for about 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. If adding raisins or nuts, fold them in.
- Pour the filling over the hot crust and spread evenly. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until the filling is set.
- Allow to cool completely, then slice into squares.
Notes
Can be served warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
