Ingredients

  • Phyllo dough
  • Unsalted butter
  • Cream cheese
  • Granulated sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • Honey
  • Chopped nuts (walnuts or pistachios)
  • Simple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Unroll the phyllo dough and cover it with a damp cloth. Brush a baking sheet with melted butter.
  3. Layer 4 sheets of phyllo dough, brushing with melted butter between each layer.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  5. Spread the cheesecake mixture over the layered phyllo.
  6. Sprinkle chopped nuts over the filling.
  7. Add another layer of phyllo on top, brushing with more butter. Repeat until 6-8 layers are used.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle with honey or simple syrup before cutting into squares.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature.
